As a Production Health and Risk Management Consultant with over 20 years of experience in the film industry both as a Stunt Performer and Stunt Safety, and a retired firefighter, Efosa brings a unique expertise to the industry. As a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Industry Safety Officers Program Efosa gained a solid foundation in safety coordination on projects with several contractors, as well as the ability to interpret and implement local regulations and Studio Safety Manuals (IIPP).
From 1994 – 2005, Efosa was a full-time member of the City of Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services. In this role Efosa was a member of several specialized teams including the VFD Rescue Team (performing medical calls and auto extrication), and the VFD Technical Rescue Team (which included duties such as rigging, high and low angle rescue, and confined space rescue). Efosa completed courses in Hazardous Materials Awareness. In addition, Efosa has completed the ActSafe Supervisor Safety Training Course and the Safety Awareness Training Program.
Efosa has worked in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Europe as a Stunt Performer / Production Safety consultant. Efosa has extensive experience working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and most importantly possess a strong awareness of cultural sensitivity.
With a passion for the industry and concern for the safety of his fellow crew members Efosa’s career evolved naturally as a safety consultant. In 2013, Efosa founded BlackPearl GlobalSafety. Managing up to six consultants, Efosa built BPGlobalSafety into one of the leading film and television production health and risk management companies in Canada.

Ady has extensive training and experience in the film and television industry. He is trained in Covid safety protocols, Contact Tracing, PPE and Safe Sets. Ady has experience and certification in Construction Safety (CSO), Workplace Health and Safety, Supervising for Safety, Accident Investigation, Confined Space Awareness, JHSC, Hand Held Fire Extinguisher and Fall Protection Training. He is also trained in Emergency First Aid and Hazardous Materials including biological, chemical and compressed gasses. He has former military experience and is knowledgeable about firearms and firearm safety. Ady is a member of the IATSE [International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees] 891.
Belma Karacic-Production Safety Consultant (Vancouver) / LinkedIn
Belma has spent her career focussed on implementing studio health and safety rules and procedures for her clients so that they can maintain and achieve compliance as well as reduce and minimize the risk of injury and illness to everyone on set.
Belma has been able to improve safety by working directly with production executives, producers, unit production managers and other production staff. coordinating and implementing training so that production personnel can increase their understanding of risks and therefore be more proactive in their protective measures.
During the pandemic Belma used her medical experience to implement and oversee Covid protocols to get everyone back to work in a timely and safe fashion.

Mary has a diverse background of music, fine art, web design, book keeping and PR in addition to being an extremely organized and proficient multitasker. She has a Masters degree in teaching from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor of music from the University of Western Ontario and Diplomas in teaching and performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music. She has run a successful piano studio for 30 years and loves providing the tools to help both students and clients achieve their best.
